About us This organization intends to bring together Romanians living in Madison, Wisconsin, while trying to conserve the rich culture, language, tradition and lively Romanian spirit. UW students, undergraduates and graduates, their families, and anyone with an interest in Romanian culture, are welcome to join us. Social events include outdoor trips, conversation dinners, dances, concerts, lectures, festivals, etc. No membership fees. You are welcome to check announcements or add your name to the Google group Romani in Madison. 2010 EVENTS SAMPLER IN MADISON & UW CAMPUS ROMANIANS IN MADISON FEB 12, 9PM: Mills Concert Hall, the UW Symphony Orchestra presents the winners of its annual concerto and composition competition, performing as soloists with the symphony. Congratulations to Olivia MUSAT, winner of the competion, interpreting the "Piano Concerto in D major for the Left Hand" by Maurice Ravel. FREE AND UNTICKETED. MARCH 5, 8PM: Mills Concert Hall - Eli KALMAN, piano and Parry Karp, violoncello; in the program Bach, Schumann (This year marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Schumann.) and Brahms. FREE ADMISSION MARCH 18-20: MMoCA. We are happy to invite you to the fourth edition of the ROMANIAN FILM FESTIVAL in MADISON. An event organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute, with help from CREECA at UW Madison and From Romania-UW student association. Event coordinator: Elena DRAGUSIN-RICHARD. OCT 4, 7:30 PM Wisconsin Union Theater, public lecture by Andrei Codrescu, National Public Radio commentator and prolific writer and editor, a native of Romania. Free admission; tickets are required and will be available starting on Monday, Sept. 27, at the Union Theater Box Office. DEC 4 2010, 8:30 PM, Morphy Hall, bassoon recital by Florin Loghin.
